Canadian Organic Growers required a refresh of their old website, including moving the content to a new Content Management System.

 

One challenge was to streamline the information for various groups of users. To achieve this, user groups were established, use cases were created, and wireframes were produced to meet the best solution. The first section of the homepage was utilized as a secondary navigation for users to quickly identify their group, and the resources relative to them.

 

COG’s color palette and original branding was used throughout the site, and icons were created for various uses. Since the website is very content heavy, the icons serve a purpose of visualizing the navigation, the calls to actions, and the user groups more easily.

 

Since the soft launch, the client has reported how easy the backend was built to edit themselves. Creatrix added customized solutions to WordPress that fit the client’s needs, and editing capabilities. Elements from each section can easily be repeated as needed, and each section has customized fields for things like colour, size, addition of icons, and photos. Through some training and this intuitive custom system, users with limited content editing experience can easily update the website.
