Website Design & Development

The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business required the design and development of a business portal, TFAB (Tools and Financing for Aboriginal Business). To fit the fresh modern look & feel, their current website was also re-designed.

TFAB’s purpose is to provide resources and tools for Canadian Aboriginal Businesses, as well as to strengthen the business community by prompting merchants to submit their tools and services.

The main CCAB website aims to acquire new members and strengthen the aboriginal business community within Canada. It hosts content from various departments, including events, research, and memberships. In order to provide a balanced emphasis, all departments can be found easily in the top navigation, as well as at the bottom of the homepage in more detailed boxes. Items that are to be showcased upfront are placed in the slider. Despite the larger amount of content, at first glance users see what CCAB is about, and can easily navigate according to their needs.

After working with each department to determine their wishes and needs, unique main landing subpages were designed. Templates were created to support each design, while main elements were carried over to maintain consistency. Branding colours were used to ensure users can easily locate where they are in the website.

WordPress was introduced as the new CMS and migration of the old website’s content was provided, as well as in-person training for future content editing.
