‘Conflict Prevention in the Sahel’ is the policy paper released by United Nations University – Centre for Policy Research, developed to directly support the UN’s understanding of the situation in the Sahel, and of the ways in which the UN system in non-mission settings can better respond to current and emerging risks. Our design of this report creates a sharp contrast that draws readers in with a striking visual.

The title and imagery find a balance that directs the reader’s focus to highlight them in an unimposing manner. The gripping tone of the cover is also captured on each chapter page accompanied with a clean layout. Overall, these complementary methods of design create an intriguing yet sophisticated look.

The aesthetics are shared as a template for the reports that followed, including ‘Conflict Prevention in an Era of Climate Change’ and ‘When Dictators Fall: Preventing violent conflict during transitions from authoritarian rule’.
